Fish Control Team seizes over 760kg of shrimp in Oman

Muscat: At least 760 kilograms of shrimp has been seized by the Fish Control Team in Al Wusta Governorate.

"The fish control team of the Directorate seized at least 760 kilograms of shrimp in the Wilayat of Duqm, which were caught outside the permitted season," the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Al Wusta Governorate said in a statement.

"The executive regulations of the Live Aquatic Wealth Law prohibits fishing, possession and trading of shrimp during the period of fertilisation, reproduction and natural growth," the statement added.
