Preliminary qualification of men’s 100m freestyle competitions at Tokyo Olympics

Tokyo: Oman’s swimmer, Issa al Adawi, ended his debut in the 32nd Summer Olympic Games – 2020 Tokyo as he came sixth with a time of 51.81s in the preliminary qualification of men’s 100m freestyle competitions on Tuesday at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. The national swimmer was assigned in heat three.

His best timing is 51.69s while Brazil's Cesar Cielo holds the world record of 46.91s, which was set in 2009. 

For heat three, the first place went to Yemeni swimmer Mokhtar Al Yamani with 50.52s while swimmer Andrew Chetcuti (MLT) finished as runner up in 51.47s. Yousef al Matroushi (UAE) came third clocking 51.50s.

Semis round will take place on Wednesday while the finals are on Thursday where the medals will be delivered to the top three winners.
