Muscat: Aerial images show a supercell approaching the coasts of South Al Sharqyiah and Muscat, and the continuation of heavy rain and flow of torrential wadis.
The Oman Meteorology Department said: “A supercell is approaching the coasts of the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah and Muscat, with chances of thunderstorms of varying intensity, including continued rainfall in the south of Al Sharqiyah lead to flow of torrential valleys, with the continuation of sporadic rains on Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, and the coasts and mountains of Dhofar. We request all to please take caution."
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority also announced that it was able to rescue a family of ten children and five women who were stuck in a rest home.
The authority said: "Following a report that a family was stuck in one of the rest houses due to rain in the Wilayat of Quriyat, the rescue teams in cooperation with the police aviation, managed to rescue the family, and they are all in good health."
