Sohar records highest COVID-19 deaths in last 24 hours

Muscat: Sohar recorded three new COVID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours, the highest number of deaths reported in the country on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Tarassud+ app, which provides daily updates on the COVID-19 situation in the country, reported that North Al Batinah Governorate recorded five deaths due to COVID-19. Three were in Wilayat Sohar and two in Wilayat Al Suwaiq.

Outside the Governorate of North Al Batinah, the highest number of deaths was seen in Muscat Governorate at four, followed by Dakhiliyah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates with each recording two deaths, while Dhofar recorded one death.

These six Governorates recorded zero deaths, South Al Batinah, Al Wusta, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Buraimi and Musandam, bringing the total number of deaths in the last 24 hours to 14 in Oman.
