Muscat Governorate records 17 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

Muscat: Seeb recorded six new COVID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours, the highest number of deaths reported in the country on Tuesday, according to data by the Ministry of Health.

The Tarassud+ app, which provides daily updates on the COVID-19 situation in the country, reported that Muscat Governorate recorded 17 deaths due to COVID-19. Six were in Wilayat Seeb, Wilayats Muttrah and Bausher both recorded four deaths each, Wilayat Muscat recorded two deaths while Wilayat  Al Amerat recorded one.

Outside the Governorate of Muscat, the highest number of deaths was seen in North Al Batinah at 12, followed by Al Wusta and Al Buraimi Governorates with each recording two deaths.

These four Governorates recorded one death each, South Al Batinah, Dakhiliyah, South and North Al Sharqiyah. While Musandam, Dhofar and Al Dhahirah Governorates recorded zero deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the last 24 hours to 37 in Oman.
