Muscat: Adhere to preventive measures such as wearing masks and avoiding gatherings during Eid Al Adha, all citizens and residents of the GCC have been urged.

During the 18th virtual meeting, a standard definition for infected persons and deaths related to COVID-19 in the GCC countries was agreed upon, as well as unifying the test procedures of gene sequencing for the different variants of the virus.

Furthermore, the meeting set a standardised classification of high-risk countries and adopted the standards of the WHO.

The meeting reviewed a number of related issues including the latest developments of immunisation in the GCC countries, Gulf Unified Treatment Manual and the COVID-19 Gulf Unified Manual.

The virtual meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.
