Muscat: Two people died by drowning -- one in the Wilayat of Sohar and another in the Wilayat of Ibri.
"Our water rescue team in North Al Batinah Governorate responded to a report of a drowning accident in the sea in the Wilayat of Sohar. One person was rescued while the other was found dead," the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority said in a statement.
The authority's teams in Al Dhahirah Governorate also responded to a report of a drowning accident in Wadi Al-Ain in the Wilayat of Ibri, and recovered his body.
The authority calls on citizens and residents not to swim in the streams and other water bodies in valleys.
