Unique tree found in Dhofar Governorate

Muscat: A tree that is unique to the Sultanate and the Arab world was discovered and documented in Dhofar Governorate.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "Specialists in the Environment Authority were able to discover and document a unique tree in the Sultanate and the Arab world after it was found in several areas in the Wilayat of Al Mazyona in the Dhofar Governorate."

"It was spotted earlier last year and was subjected to research by a specialized team from the Environment Authority, and it is a flowering tree that attracts bees and is grazing and has a major role in the ecosystem in the region," added the statement.
