Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH), confirms that there is no need to conduct a Covid-19 examination before taking the vaccine, and that there is no truth to what is being circulated about the fact that the components of vaccines include the Covid-19 virus.

MoH said in a statement: "The Ministry of Health has monitored circulating audio messages containing a set of inaccuracies related to COVID-19 patients and the COVID-19 vaccines, and would like to clarify the components of these vaccines and the requirements for receiving them."

The Ministry confirms that there is no need to conduct any tests before receiving the vaccines if the patient does not have any of the symptoms of Covid-19, and denies what was mentioned in the circulated message that the vaccine increases the severity of the disease in the recipient.

"The ministry reiterates that the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines do not contain any Covid-19 virus, but rather viral components that activate the immune system to resist the virus from infection," the statement added.

The ministry noted that spreading rumors and false information about vaccines harms society and may even cause death of innocent people.

The ministry calls on community members to avoid taking information from non-specialists, but rather through the ministry's website and its accounts on social media platforms and other official sources.
