Muscat: The Environment Authority has carried out a diving campaign to remove waste and fishing nets stuck in the coral reefs in Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve. More than three tonnes of fishing nets and other waste have been removed.
A statement issued online by the Environment Authority said: "As part of the efforts of the authority to protect the marine environment and monitor the state of coral reefs in the Sultanate, we implemented a diving campaign in the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve to remove waste and fishing nets stuck in coral reefs, where more than three tonnes of fishing nets and other waste was removed.
