Muscat: People aged 18 and above will be eligible for COVID vaccines in all governorates of Oman, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.
The drive will begin on Sunday, July 4, 2021. The ministry has called on the targeted group to book appointments through the website https://covid19.mog.gov.om or through the Tarassud+ application before visiting the vaccination centres.
This comes after Oman reported 2,234 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday, in addition to 43 new COVID-19-related deaths. This brings the total number of positive COVID-19 cases to 266,536 in the Sultanate.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths reached 3,056, the Ministry of Health said.
The Ministry added that 1,569 new cases have recovered, bringing the total number to 233,287 recoveries.
The Ministry also pointed out that 181 cases were hospitalised over the past 24 hours, as the total number of current hospitalised COVID-19-infected patients stands at 1,613 of them 525 are in intensive care units (ICUs).
The Health Ministry also said 854,274 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19, since the start of National Immunisation Plan in December 2020. This is 24 percent of the targeted population.
