Muscat: The Ministry of Foreign has issued a statement for Omani citizens wishing to travel to the Republic of Georgia.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Foreign said: "The ministry would like to draw the attention of the citizens that the Republic of Georgia prohibits the entry of medicines containing codeine, for example, Panadol Extra and Fevadol Plus. Its laws impose a fine of more than 3,000 US dollars (USD), and an imprisonment of up to four years."
"The ministry requests citizens to take precautions when travelling abroad and to always check about medicines and materials prohibited to avoid violating the relevant laws of the respective countries," the statement added.
