More than 850,000 people vaccinated in Oman

Muscat: More than 850,000 people have been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines since the National Immunisation campaign kicked off in December 2020.

"As many as 854,274 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19, since the start of the National Immunisation Plan in December 2020. The number stands for 24 per cent of the targeted population," said Oman News Agency (ONA).

ONA confirmed that, the number of those who took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine stood at 643,744 comprising 75 per cent, while the number of those who took two doses stood at 210,530 comprising 25 per cent.

"The Ministry of Health plans to cover all target segments aged 12 and above, which stands for 70 per cent of Oman’s population. The vaccination process will be carried out in stages, depending on the arrival of supplies of Covid-19 vaccines and in line with the goals set for the National Immunisation Strategy," ONA added.
