Business activities in A'Seeb Central Market limited to Omanis

Muscat: Business activities in A'Seeb Central Market will be limited to Omanis only.

An announcement issued online by Muscat Municipality said that the decision is a result of the Omanisation programme enacted by the government to replace expatriate workers with trained Omani personnel, and based on the Muscat Municipality pursuit to enhance the business environment for youthful Omanis. The decision includes:

1. Limiting the engagement of business activities in A'Seeb Central Market (belonging to Muscat Municipality) to Omanis only, effective from January 1, 2022.

2. All holders of contracts with Muscat Municipality must correct their situation as of the date hereof.

3. Muscat Municipality and the Ministry of Labour call on everyone to cooperate fully to support Omani cadres by implementing this decision.
