Muscat: Oman has recorded a new record number of deaths exceeding 30, on Thursday due to COVID-19, according to data from the Ministry of Health, the numbers point to a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus infections and ICU patients in the region.
On June 17, statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that the number of those hospitalised in the past 24 hours reached 182 along with 382 patients admitted to the ICU, bringing the total number of patients admitted to health institutions to 1,306 cases.
There are 2,015 new cases of Covid-19 in Oman, deaths reaching 35 during this period, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry stated that the total number of registered cases in the Sultanate is 242,723, with 213,880 recovered (88.1 per cent) and 2,626 deaths (1.07 per cent).
