Ministry issues clarification on children living in unprotected environment

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development has clarified about a number of children who live in an unprotected environment.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Social Development said: "The ministry followed up on video the situation of a number of children who live in an environment where the necessary protection is not available for them."

"The Social Development Ministry has taken measures by visiting the child protection representative at the headquarters where the children were presented to a health institution to check on their health status. The ministry continues to follow up on their conditions in accordance with the Child Law."

"The Ministry urges people to call the child protection hotline at 1100," the ministry added.
