Anti-dumping probe on import of car batteries begins

Muscat: The Office of the Technical Secretariat to Combat Harmful Practices in International Trade, for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States has commenced anti-dumping investigation on the import of car batteries (32amp to 225amp) imported from/or with Spain, Turkey and India as countries of origin, under customs item No. 85071000 of the common customs tariff  of the GCC States.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion stated that the step taken came within the Common Law (System) of Anti-dumping, Countervailing Measures & Safeguards of the GCC States and its executive regulation, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 20/2015.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion urged Omani establishments and companies importing and manufacturing the above products in accordance with the HS Code to approach or call the Anti-dumping Department at the Ministry.
