Sea along coast of Oman to remain rough; fog hits flights

Muscat: Sea along the Oman coast will be rough under the impact of fresh wind in Musandum, the Oman Meteorology Department said yesterday.
“The blowing of fresh wind over Musandam will make the sea rough along the coasts with waves rising to three metres and in the Sea of Oman the waves are expected to rise to 2.5 metres,” the Oman meteorology department tweeted on its official twitter handle.
Muscat flights to and from Dubai have been delayed due to heavy fog at the Dubai International Airport on Thursday.
A tweet from Dubai Airport authorities read, ‘operations at DXB have been disrupted due to fog this morning, check with your airline for flight updates.’
flydubai operates three flights from the Muscat international Airport. Two flights were delayed and one was cancelled considering weather conditions in Dubai.
“Flight FZ 042, scheduled to depart in the morning was delayed by five hours. Passengers from flight FZ 046 which was scheduled at 9:50am were transferred to the delayed FZ 042 flight. FZ 046 was cancelled,” said an airline official.
