Commercial establishments in Oman fined for displaying expired goods

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority has imposed two administrative violations on two commercial establishments in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate for displaying expired goods.

A statement issued online by Consumer Protection Authority said :"The Consumer Protection Department in Al Dakhiliya Governorate imposed two administrative violations on two commercial establishments for displaying expired goods, during the periodic inspection visits that the authority conducts in various markets, shops and commercial centers with the aim of monitoring and organizing them and ensuring that suppliers comply with the laws and decisions issued in this regard."

" The facts of the first violation are summarized in the seizure of an expired non-medicinal commodity in a pharmacy, which is in violation of the Consumer Protection Law, and accordingly the administration took the necessary measures against it and issued an administrative violation of OMR 500."

" The second violation is summarized in its facts in enabling the judicial control officers to seize (259) expired products in one of the shops specialized in selling cosmetic products in the governorate, where the administration took the necessary measures towards it and issued a financial administrative violation of OMR 500. "the statement added.
