Bank Muscat Introduces Training and Job Opportunities to SQU Career Fair’s Visitors

Muscat: Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, is keen to cooperate and partner with various educational institutions to achieve Sustainable Human Development Goals. In this context, the Bank participates in the 24th edition of the Career and Training Fair organized by Sultan Qaboos University during the period from 4 to 6 March 2024, along with a number of private and government institutions representing various sectors.

The annual Fair serves as a link between university students and labor sectors. It allows the participating institutions to learn about the academic level, skills and abilities of students. At the same time, it familiarises students and graduates with the available job and training opportunities and mechanism to apply for them, and raise their professional awareness. The Fair is also an opportunity for future students to choose their university specialties and learn more about the most in-demand majors in the labor market and related work environment.

Bank Muscat is keen to participate annually in the Career and Training Fair, as it is an opportunity to meet with students and introduce them to the Bank's recruitment policy, available vacancies, the areas of human resources development and the programmess provided by the Bank in this field. The Bank’s annual participation in the Fair confirms its commitment to the long-standing partnership with Sultan Qaboos University, in particular, and government and private institutions in general as part of the its strategy aimed at supporting various events and activities that serve all segments of society.

During the opening ceremony, H.E. Dr. Muna Salim Khalfan Al Jardania, Undersecretary of Vocational Training at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the patron of the event, visited Bank Muscat’s pavilion in the Fair and was briefed about the various job and training opportunities the Bank offers annually, and the mechanism to applying for them.

Bank Muscat has achieved more than 93% Omanisation rate with a total number of employees exceeding 4,000 in the different branches and departments. During 2023, more than 340 Omani employees joined the Bank. With regard to the training aspect, the Bank provided about 580 training opportunities for male and female students in cooperation with various educational institutions. Moreover, the Bank offered a number of local and international scholarships for competent employees.

Bank Muscat allocates considerable resources to enhance the capabilities of its workface where training plans and programmes are approved annually for all employees. Since the very moment of joining the Bank, employees are enrolled in appropriate training and development courses to enable them to perform their jobs to the fullest.
