Muscat: It was a night to remember for Mohammed Al Noufali as the Omani freestyle football player stood with an award on the same dais where football greats like Mohamed Saleh, Karim Benzema and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were also awarded.
Noufali won the Best Football TikTok Creator award in the Digital Awards category at the 13th edition of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards.
The Digital Awards category comprised Best Football Esports Player of the Year, Best Football TikTok Creator of the Year, Best Football YouTube Creator of the Year, Best Football Social Media Influencer of the Year and Best Football Journalist of the Year.
The ceremony, held in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, took place in Madinat Jumeirah on Thursday night.
The Best men’s Player of the Year was handed to Benzema while TikTok Fans’ Player of the Year award was given to Salah. Sergio Ramos was named the Best Defender of All Time while his former club Real Madrid was declared the Best men’s Club of the Year.
The event crowned the footballers, coaches, managers, agents and promising players who have distinguished themselves both on and off the pitch in the season.
The winners were selected by the fans from all over the world, along with a jury of global football coaches, directors and chairmen.
Noufali competed with 14 other football content creators from around the world and was among the seven who qualified for the finals.
The popular Omani influencer won the award after obtaining the highest number of votes.
Speaking after receiving the award, Noufali said: It is a great honour to win such a prestigious award. This is the first time that the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards have included the digital awards category and to become the first person in the world to win it is really special.”
