Muscat: The annual ordinary general meeting of Dar Al Atta’a Association was held on the premises of Dar Al Atta’a, last Tuesday, in Ghala.
The meeting discussed the agenda and new schemes and the key challenges facing Dar Al Atta’a under the exceptional conditions in the Sultanate.
The participants discussed the action plan for 2021 and approved the annual budget based on the donations and cooperation with the other supporting establishments.
It approved construction of eight houses at the cost of over OMR200,000 and maintenance of twenty three houses for an approximate sum of OMR110,000 and sponsoring over 800 families, food supply, sheep sacrificing, Eid dress and school items for sons and daughters of such families.
The meeting also approved continuation of the projects aimed to empower the needy families and generation of sustainable income for them.
The meeting also approved the financial statements for the year 2020 and discussed the key achievements and campaigns of the Association including the campaign titled “Together in Hardship and Ease”, in which Dar Al Atta’a provided assistance to over 24 families affected with the suspension/lockdown of their businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, Dar Al Atta’a had handed over eight houses worth over OMR168,000. So far Dar Al Atta’a has completed construction of 93 houses within the programme of “My Home; My Shelter” besides maintenance of 615 houses for the needy families.
Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Board of Dar Al Atta’a Association said that last year has been a difficult one which had seen suspension/lockdown of businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks to the Almighty Allah and the support of charitable persons and supporting establishments, they were able to work towards overcoming such conditions and crisis, she added.
