
Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,662.26 points, down 0.12 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up 0.13 per cent at 535.72 points. Galfar Engineering, up 9.09 per cent, was the top gainer while Ahlia Insurance, down 8.14 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of HSBC Bank Oman was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as terms of turnover.
A total number of 596 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.60 million, with more than 13.71 million shares changing hands. Out of 48 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 11 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR125,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR74,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR52,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,626.36 points, down by 0.66 per cent. Sohar International Bank, Muscat Finance, National Bank Oman and Al Anwar Investment were up 4.65 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. HSBC Bank Oman, United Finance and Ahli Bank were down 5.00 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 1.90 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,647.70 points, up 0.29 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Jazeera Steel Product and Al Maha Ceramics were up 9.09 per cent, 0.98 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down 3.37 per cent and 1.34 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.14 per cent before closing at 1,529.67 points. Al Jazeera Services, Al Suwadi Power, Oman Education Training and Oman Telecommunication were up 2.34 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 0.83 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively. Ooredoo and Renaissance Service were down 2.44 per cent and 1.70 per cent respectively.
