Several expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: Fisheries control teams in Dhofar governorate have arrested a number of expatriates and citizens who violated fishing law and decisions.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said: "The Fisheries Control Team in Dhofar Governorate, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, managed to stop a number of expatriate workers on fishing boats, and arrested citizens fishing for Abalone out of season."

Legal procedures against violators are underway, the Ministry added.
