U.S. thanks His Majesty for support to UN Special Envoy to Yemen

Muscat: The United States of America has expressed its thanks to His Majesty the Sultan for his support of the efforts of the Office of the United Nations Special for Yemen.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: ”The United States of America expresses its thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his support of the efforts of the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen and the American Envoy to Yemen.”

The United States of America confirmed its commitment to achieving a ceasefire and reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the existing crisis in the Republic of Yemen.

In turn, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen also expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan for his constructive efforts to find a settlement to the existing crisis in Yemen.

ONA reported, “His Excellency Martin Griffiths, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, expresses his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his constructive efforts and his continued commitment to support Yemen to pursue a sustainable peace path.”

He stressed that the Sultanate is a key partner of the United Nations in its efforts to mediate a comprehensive political settlement to the crisis in Yemen.
