Muscat-Dubai flights suspended temporarily
The flights were suspended for operational reasons as there is a difference in views between the two sides for scheduled flights, said a senior Civil Aviation Authority official.

Muscat: The flights between Muscat and Dubai were suspended for commercial reasons, a senior official of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said. Speaking to the Times of Oman, the official said, “The flights were suspended for operational reasons as there is a difference in views between the two sides for scheduled flights.”

“But we are currently discussing the issue with the General Civil Aviation Authority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to solve this problem as soon as possible.”

He confirmed that what is being circulated on social media is that there is an exception for SalamAir flight to Dubai.

“But that is not correct and currently there are no scheduled flights between Dubai and Muscat,” he said.

He also said that there is one SalamAir flight which is operating today. “But that is an unscheduled flight. SalamAir has not flown to Dubai since the beginning of the summer season, which started on March 28,” he added.

He also confirmed that Oman Air and SalamAir are operating flights to other emirates of the UAE except Dubai. On the other hand, airlines like Air Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Etihad, are also operating flights from the UAE to Muscat but not from Dubai. He explained that there are two types of flight schedules, which are the winter and summer aviation schedules.

The winter aviation schedule ended on March 27, 2021, and the summer schedule began on Sunday, March 28, 2021, and accordingly discussions are currently underway with the General Civil Aviation Authority to approve the schedules between the two countries.
