Muscat: The Saudi Ministry of Sports announced  that people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed to attend sporting events. The stadiums however, will only be filled to 40 per cent capacity starting from 17 May, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) announced.

The ministry said, “As an exception, fans will be allowed to attend the match between the Saudi national team and the Palestinian national football team to be held tomorrow in Riyadh as part of joint Asian tournament qualifiers for the World Cup 2022 and the Asian Cup 2023, upon the approval of authorities concerned with following up on the developments of Covid-19."

In its statement, the ministry affirmed: “Entry will be allowed for those who show "immune" status on Tawakkalna application, along with implementing precautionary measures such as spacing between seats and wearing masks, in addition to coordinating with the concerned authorities if any violations are detected in this regard."
