Nationwide night lockdown begins at 8pm

Muscat: Oman will go into night lockdown at 8pm this evening, to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country. 

People are advised to reach home before then, with shops and other commercial establishments already shut. The lockdown is likely to run until Thursday, 8 April, from 8pm to 5am every day. 

During the lockdown, people are banned from leaving their homes, and vehicles are not permitted to travel on roads.
