European tourist injured after slipping from Oman's Jebel Shams mountain

Muscat: A European tourist fell off Jebel Shams mountain in Al Khatim area on Sunday morning, said the Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA).
Following a distress call, the PACDA personnel rushed to the site of incident to carry out the rescue operation. The woman was rushed to the nearest hospital. She has sustained only minor injuries.
“The tourist was walking along the mountain side when she slipped and fell down,” said a PACDA official. Officials have reiterated the importance of maintaining safety and advised people to travel in groups in isolated areas and follow the guidelines and advisories to stay safe and avoid injuries.
