Pact inked for physiotherapy, rehab centre in Shinas
Muscat: An agreement was signed recently to establish a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre in Shinas. The pact was inked between Jusoor Foundation and the Director General of Health Services (DGHS), North Al Batinah.
Sheikh Saif bin Humiar Al-Malik Al-Shehi, Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of Jusoor Board of Directors (BoD), signed the agreement on behalf of Jusoor, while the DGHS in North Al Batinah North, signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Health (MoH). Funded by OQ, Sohar Aluminium and Vale, and implemented by Jusoor, the project aims at enhancing the quality and efficacy of health services in Shinas Health Centre.
Further, it focuses on accommodating patients with physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs as well as avoiding the transfer of patients to referral hospitals or postponing their treatments. It intends to educate stakeholders about the new added services and encourage them to benefit from the centre.
Sheikh Saif Al Shehi, said, “This agreement of great import, reflects the organisation’s everlasting commitment with its partners, OQ, Sohar Aluminum and Vale. The project is in alignment with the efforts and aspirations of Jusoor Foundation to achieve sustainable social development for Oman. At this Foundation, we strongly believe in the importance of community participation for encouraging development in the Governorates.”
With a built-up area of 187.86 square metres, the newly constructed building on the premises of Shinas Health Centre, will be fully equipped with high-quality medical tools and devices necessary for providing top-notch physiotherapy and rehabilitation services. The cost of the project is estimated at OMR85,000 and is expected to be completed in 12 months.
The project is aimed at providing the elderly, handicapped and patients with fractures, burns and accidents appropriate and timely treatment. The centre will consist of six diagnostic and rehabilitation clinics, a physiotherapy room and separate waiting rooms for males and females.
