Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has received a written message from President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. The message deals with the bilateral relations and fields of cooperation between the two countries.
The message was received by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, when he received on Monday Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Envoy of the Mauritanian President.
The guest conveyed greetings of President of Mauritania and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan.
The meeting comprehensively reviewed the relations binding the Sultanate and Mauritania and means of promoting cooperation in several fields, besides discussing regional developments and matters of common concern.
On his turn, the Mauritanian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s appreciation for the Sultanate’s balanced policy at the regional and international levels and its constructive role in promoting understanding and rapprochement among countries. He reaffirmed the desire of the Mauritanian leadership to expand cooperation with the Sultanate to serve the joint interests.
The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Mohamed Vall Ould Ahmed, Mauritanian Ambassador to the Sultanate.
