Muscat: The Ministry of Labour and the Petroleum Development Oman inaugurated a platform, Rakhaa, in the presence of His Excellency Al Sayid Salem bin Muslim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources, and Sheikh Nasr bin Amer Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor.

In the context of promoting micro-work culture, the Ministry of Labour organised an event to introduce the micro-labor economy and its operating platforms.
The event included a number of visual presentations by the part-time team. And part-time work for the follow-up unit for the implementation of Oman Vision 2040, a presentation on the experience of the SAS Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, a presentation on the Rakhaa platform of Petroleum Development Oman, and a number of offers from support and operating platforms for part-time work.

His Excellency the Sheikh also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Petroleum Development Oman to launch the Rakhaa platform, which aims to support self-employed Omanis in the manufacture of media, educational and entertainment content, and technological development, and to direct institutions in the public and private sectors to register and use them instead of using non-Omanis to implement these businesses, and provide a sound environment for the practice of part-time work.

His Excellency Sheikh Nasr bin Amer Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor for Labour, said: "The Ministry’s interest in partial work comes from its belief in its importance in building a sustainable and diversified economy in which supply and demand are equal, and partial work is considered one of the most important economic tributaries that contribute to building expertise and refining skills and a source of additional income to benefit the job seeker or worker. Therefore, the Ministry seeks to raise awareness of the importance of work and review ministerial decisions organising them in line with the requirements of the current economy."

"In Addition, organising such an event allows those interested to get acquainted with the various platforms that offer partial contracting opportunities to provide various job opportunities in various sectors, such as delivering orders, providing electrical repair services or providing specialized media services," he added.

He pointed out: "What we see today of the development of the concept of work is a cause for pride, as Omani youth have become a contributor to creating various platforms to guide service seekers to obtain these services in an easy and easy way, and to enable service providers to develop their skills and achieve additional financial gain."

He emphasised that the target group for part-time work are job seekers, workers, housewives, retirees, college and students, who are at least 15 years old.

Regarding the signing of the agreement, His Excellency the Sheikh said: "We, as a ministry, believe that the launch of the Rakhaa platform will contribute effectively to empowering Omani youth who are professionals in the media and educational content industry to develop their skills and develop their expertise by opening the way for them to contract and cooperate with various institutions in the public and private sectors, as well as It will provide material support for them."

Regarding the platform, Engineer Abdul Amir bin Abdul Hussein Al-Ajmi, Executive Director of External Affairs and Value Added at Petroleum Development Oman, affirmed that the launch of the Rakhaa platform today came as a belief in the importance of creating a creative and inspiring youth community, inspired by the Oman 2040 vision.

He pointed out that the platform will work to link between media, educational, entertainment and technological development makers of independent work individuals and a number of small and medium-sized companies with applicants from governmental and private institutions.

Executive Director of External Affairs of the Petroleum Development Oman and a number of owners of platforms supporting the partial work were present.
