Covid-19 case detected in school, blended education stopped for two weeks

Muscat:  Students in the 12th grade at the Al Hassan Bin Hashem School in the wilayat of Seeb, have been asked to continue their studies through the distance education method from today till 4 April 2021, after a Covid-19 case was detected, education officials announced.

A statement issued online by the Directorate General of Education in Muscat Governorate said: "Based on the recommendation of the Epidemiological Investigation Committee in the Wilayat of Seeb yesterday due to the presence of a Covid-19 case, and in order to preserve the safety of our students, the Supervisory Committee of the  Directorate General of Health Services in the Governorate of Muscat approved the recommendation to continue the study of 12th grade students at Al Hassan Bin Hashem School in the wilayat of Seeb to the distance education system for a period of two weeks as stipulated in the health protocol from today, March 22 until April 4, 2021."

"Provided that students resume their studies in the blended education system as of Monday, April 5, 2021,” the statement added.
