Covid-19: Over 100 patients admitted in ICU

Muscat: The Sultanate has crossed 100 cases of patients of COVID-19 in ICU, according to data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus infections in the region.

On Sunday, statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that the number of those hospitalized during the past 24 hours reached 52, bringing the total to 331 cases, of whom 103 were in intensive care.

The Sultanate also recorded two deaths during the past three days and 1,669 new cases of Coronavirus, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi, Minister of Health and a member of the Supreme Committee, said about the reason of increasing the number of patients in the intensive care: "Until today, the number of patients in intensive care has reached 103, and this is very worrying and dangerous, and the lack of compliance is the reason for the increase in the number of cases.”

H.E Dr. Al Saeedi pointed out that it is not ruled out that other precautionary measures should be taken if the situation continues to what It is now, all that is required is to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures.
