Debate competition champion announced

Muscat: A team from the schools affiliated to the Directorate of Education of Al Dakhiliyah secured the first place in the 5th National Championship for Debates for schools category, organised by the Directorate General for Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Culture in cooperation with Oman Debates Centre.

The team from the schools of Al Dhahirah's Directorate of Education came second in the final organised at the Stage of the Scouts Music Band affiliated to the Directorate General of Scouts and Girl-guides. The final has seen a tough competition between the two sides.

The team of the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah was represented by Jinan bint Saif Al Hinai from Basiya Basic Education School, Shahd bint Muhana Al Rabkhi from Al Mamurah Basic Education School, Reem bint Said Al Qasabi from Basiya Basic Education School and Qidas bint Abdullah Al Riyami from Safiyah Um Al Mominin Basic Education School.

The 5th National Championship for Debates aimed to cement ties among the youth, to disseminate the culture of dialogue and to familiarise the youth with the various methods of expressing opinion and ideas and rhetoric art.
