Health ministers discuss effect of COVID in Arab region

Muscat: The health ministers discussed ways to boost efforts in promoting the health sector and studying the COVID-19 repercussions in the Arab region.

The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, took part on Monday in the 54th ordinary session of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Council.

Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi represented the Sultanate in the virtual meeting.

The meeting touched upon the proposal submitted by Bahrain on the Arab strategic plan regarding the availability of public health services in the context of asylum, as well as the possibility of standardising health legislation in the Arab countries and the Arab Fund for Health Development.

A proposal submitted from the Republic of China on the Arab-Chinese Cooperation in the health field was addressed during the meeting. In addition, the meeting also highlighted the Arab-American cooperation to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
