Muscat: The Environment Authority has carried out a clean-up campaign for one of the natural places characterised by the dense wild Ghaf trees in South Al Batinah Governorate.
A statement issued online by Environment Authority said :"The Environment Department in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, in cooperation with the municipality of Al-Musanna and Oman Be'ah, carried out a clean-up campaign for one of the natural places, characterised by the density of wild Ghaf trees in the Wilayat of Al-Musanna, which was used by some people as a landfill for a number of wastes such as construction, demolition and agricultural waste."
"During this campaign, all waste and materials were removed and transferred to the designated landfill in the state, and the natural appearance of the site was restored."
"The authority calls on everyone to commit to preserving the environment and avoiding such wrong practices that cause damage to the environment and distort the public view," the statement added.
