Oman's Labour Ministry clarifies procedure for job applications

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has clarified that some institutions have capped the number of applications at 50 in order to speed up the recruitment process. Once the number of applications reaches the limit, the job will no longer accept new applications till the previous ones are processed and rejected.

The clarification came as some job seekers had pointed out that they were unable to apply for positions listed on the Ministry website. "Some job vacancies, at the request of private sector establishments, have been set to a limit of 50 candidates in accordance with the company policy to speed up procedures."

"Registrations will reopen in case they do not find suitable candidates to fit the job. Some other establishments will accept all applications through the registration period before looking at the candidates for selection," the Ministry said.
