Hemal, Ajay bowl Al Turki to victory; ISC reaches Women’s League final

MUSCAT: Superb bowling by Hemalkumar Tandel (4 for 30) and Ajay Lalcheta (3 for 18) was the highlight of Al Turki NMC’s exciting 3-wicket win over Arm Alpha in a Premier Division T20 league game at OC Turf 1 in Amerat on Tuesday.

Super spells by Tandel and Lalcheta were instrumental in restricting Alpha to a lowly 104 for 9 with only Kaleemullah making a notable score of 26. Al Turki did not have smooth sailing either but managed to surpass the total in the 18 th over, scoring 108 for 7 thanks to a gutsy 40 off 49 by Suraj Kumar. Pacers Ahmed Fayyaz Butt and Kaleemullah claimed three and two wickets while spinner Sanuth also bagged two.

Priyanka, Payal take ISC to final

Priyanka Mendonca’s brilliant form with the bat and Payal Kanojia’s golden arm helped Indian Social Club (ISC) Women to its fourth consecutive win in the Women’s League, beating Wadi Kabir Women by 57 runs at OC Turf 1 on Monday.

ISC has thus qualified for the final. The winner of the eliminator between second and third-placed teams will be the other finalist. ISC did not lose a game this season, collecting a maximum 8 points from 4 matches to top the league.

Prinyanka (33) and Suhani Dadhwal (33) topscored as ISC collected 142 for 3 from its quota of 20 overs.

Wadi Kabir Women was jolted by Payal’s three quick wickets as it slumped to 45 for 5 in 13 overs from being 38 for no loss in less than 9 overs. Priyanka was brilliant with the ball too, taking 1 for 4 in 4 overs, 3 of which were maiden. Opener Shreya Suresh was Wadi Kabir’s main scorer with a patient 18.

Majid, Adnan shine in Maniz Azad win

Majid Hussein’s splendid 66 not out and Adnanul Haq’s excellent all-round performance steered Maniz Azad to a thrilling 4-wicket victory against LC Tech in a Senior Division Knockout game at Muscat Municipality ground 3 on Friday.

Rahul Rajeev topscored with 54 as LC Tech posted 175 for 9 on the board in 20 overs. Adnan, Usman Asghar, Zaheer Abbas and Moazzam Shah all bagged two wickets each.

Thanks to brilliant batting by Majid (66), Adnan (33) and Tahir Ali (32), Maniz Azad secured victory off the last ball of the final over, scoring 176 for 6. Rahul Ramachandran and Rajesh Shetty took two wickets each.
