Central Market for vegetables and fruits in Seeb renovated

Muscat: The Municipality of Muscat, represented by Al Mawaleh Central Market for vegetables and fruits in the wilayat of Seeb, has completed the project of developing and beautifying the Central Market for vegetables and fruits in Seeb, Oman News Agency (ONA), announced.

Issa bin Khalfan Al-Riyami, director of the market administration said, "The project included the maintenance of the outer wall of the market to 3 meters, general maintenance of all service facilities inside the market, the closing of a number of useless small gates, and the creation and numbering of (56) parking spaces in the land adjacent to the market that is not owned from the western side to accommodate the largest possible amount of refrigerators and trucks that come from outside the Sultanate. "

Al-Riyami added, "In addition to the establishment of (300) parking spaces for consumers coming from Sultan Qaboos Street and heading to the governorates of Al-Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah, the total parking lots available to consumers reached (558)."

Al-Riyami indicated to ONA that: "The market administration has prepared a tender for the installation of electronic gates inside the market in order to regulate the entry and exit of refrigerators and large trucks to the market and the installation of (41) traffic signposts for the lanes inside the market and the external parking and the layout of internal streets and their lighting. The company contracted with the administration to install surveillance cameras has also been completed, and soon the implementation will take place."
