Muscat: Dhofar Club secured His Majesty the Sultan’s Football Cup title for the season 2020-2021 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Sunday.
Dhofar Club lifted the crown for the tenth time in history when they beat Al Suwaiq 5-1 in the final.
The final match was organised under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, in the presence of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth and a number of members of the Royal family, Ministers, Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee, chairpersons of the boards of clubs and invitees.
The scorers for the Dhofar team were Khalid Al Hajri (three goals), Lawson Bekui and Yasin Al Sheikh scored one each while Amran Al Hidi scored for Al Suwaiq team.
On the conclusion of the match, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi gave away the championship cup and gold medals to the Dhofar team and silver medals to the players of Al Suwaiq Club.
