OMR 100,000 fine, three year jail for trafficking antiquities

Muscat: People misusing information technology or displaying information with with the intent to trafficking in antiquities or artifacts will be awarded a jail term of three years or a fine extending up to OMR100,000.

A statement issued online by Public Prosecution said : "Creating a website or using means of information technology to publish or display information with the intent to trafficking in antiquities or artifacts under circumstances other than those prescribed by low is an offense punishable by imprisonment for a period up to 3 years and a fine that extends to OMR  100,000 or by either one of the two sentences. "
