NBO employees selected for Etimad national leadership programme

Muscat: Three of the National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) staff members have been selected to participate in Etimad, a national leadership programme to upskill and empower Omanis for middle and senior management positions.

Emerging from the recommendations of the Labour Market and Employment Lab at the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification, 'Tanfeedh', the programme aims to train a total of 10,000 Omanis through a series of six-month sessions.
Three promising individuals from the bank’s IT, brand division and investment banking departments were chosen for the latest batch, part of NBO’s commitment to cultivating a nurturing work environment that provides its employees with the opportunity to grow in their respective careers.

Abdullah Zahran Al Hinai, Chief Executive Officer at NBO, said, “National Bank of Oman firmly believes in the role of the private sector in empowering young Omanis to take their place as future business leaders while supporting the government’s vision for economic development. As our organisation’s most important assets, we are also committed to the professional development of our employees at every level. Serving as shining examples of the huge pool of talent we have at the bank, we look forward to seeing our candidates continue to take their careers from strength to strength and lead Omaninto the future.”

Maram Al Busaidi, Head of Corporate Communications & Change Management at NBO, and Etimad participant, added, “With new technologies and evolving business practices transforming the way we work, it is more important than ever for us to upskill and adapt to the challenges that lay before us. I am delighted to be a part of Etimad, which is providing us with new tools to keep up with the rapid pace of change, helping us to pursue our career aspirations, and be the leaders our country needs.”

Etimad objectives are aligned with NBO’s strategy to develop the skills of its employees, build on the partnership between the private and public sectors, and support the nation’s development. As such, it organises and supports a range of educational and youth-led programmes to empower local talent and strengthen its position as a future-ready, world-class bank.
