Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,623.45 points, up 0.04 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.30 per cent at 541.43 points. Al Anwar Investment, up 4.11 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Batinah Dev, down 8.96 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Madina Takaful were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Renaissance Service was most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 530 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3.97 million, with more than 40.49 million shares changing hands. Out of 55 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 9 declined and 33 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR101,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR97,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR4,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,498.27 points, up by 0.56 per cent. Al Anwar Investment, Oman Emirates Holding, Ahli Bank, Sohar International Bank and Bank Muscat were up by 4.11 per cent, 2.50 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Dev, United Finance, Madina Takaful were down by 8.96 per cent, 2.27 per cent and 1.0 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,673.16 points, up 0.25 per cent. Gulf International, Aluminium Product, Voltamp Energy, Oman Cable, and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 3.8 per cent, 3.61 per cent, 2.65 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement and Jazeera Steel were down by 0.66 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.35 per cent before closing at 1,541.59 points. Phoenix Power was up by 2.17 per cent. Omantel, Ooredoo, Sharqiyah Desalin, Semcorp Salalah were down by 2.08 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.43 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively.
