Expatriate fishermen arrested in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has recorded off-season fishing violations and arrested expatriate workers found working on fishing boats without the requisite licenses.

A statement issued online by the ministry said, "The fisheries control team in Dhofar Governorate was able to record offenses for fishing for Abalone off-season in the wilayat of Sadah. In addition, expatriate workers working on fishing vessels without licenses were arrested and legal procedures are being completed against them."
