Oman's Foreign Minister speaks to Palestinian, Israeli counterparts via phone call

Muscat: His Excellency the Foreign Minister has made two phone calls to the Palestinian and Israeli Foreign Ministers.

A statement issued online by the Oman News Agency, (ONA) said: "His Excellency Mr. Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today made a phone call to His Excellency Dr. Riyad Al Maliki, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the State of Palestine, and had another call with His Excellency Gabi Ashkenazi, the Israeli Foreign Minister.”

The statement added, ”During the two calls, he affirmed the Omani position in support of achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East through direct negotiations and a two-state solution for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”
