Muscat: Ahli Sidab Club won the His Majesty the Sultan’s Hockey Cup for the 12th time after they beat Bausher Club 3-0 in the final match played at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Monday evening.
The final was organised under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Harrasi, Minister of Information, and was attended by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
Ahli Sidab dominated the proceedings from the beginning.
Ahli Sidab were up 2-0 at the end of the second quarter, and continued to assert their dominance in the field till the end.
At the conclusion of the match, the Minister of Information gave away the championship’s cup to the winning team and medals and gifts to other winners.
The victors were also congratulated by the Oman Hockey Association for their success in the final.
In another match, Seeb Club won against Sohar Club 4-1 to secure third place.
