Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,622.11 points, up 0.27 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.47 per cent at 543.07 points. Voltamp Energy, up 9.71 per cent, was the top gainer while Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding, down 7.00 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Renaissance Service were most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 672 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR0.98 million, with more than 8.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 8 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR42,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR40,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR2,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,468.43 points, up by 0.72 per cent. Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Investment, United Finance, Oman & Emirates Holding and Bank Muscat were up 8.57 per cent, 7.35 per cent, 7.32 per cent, 5.26 per cent and 1.49 per cent respectively. Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding was the only loser by 7.00 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 4,661.39 points, up 0.77 per cent. Voltamp Energy, Al Maha Ceramics, National Aluminum Product, Oman Cables Industry and Galfar Engineering were up 9.71 per cent, 5.38 per cent, 3.75 per cent, 2.33 per cent and 2.13 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement was the only loser by 2.58 per cent.
Services index was down by 0.18 per cent before closing at 1,547.04 points. Muscat Desalination was the only gainer by 1.12 per cent. Sharqiyah Desalination, Oman Investment & Financial, Sembcorp Salalah, Muscat Gases and Ooredoo were down 2.10 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.49 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively.
