Model fields for date palm, mango and lemon trees to come up in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is implementing a project to establish model fields for date palm, mango and lemon trees in the Sultanate’s governorates.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, in cooperation with farmers, is implementing a project to establish model fields for date palm, mango and lemon trees that are economically feasible to enhance food security and achieve a percentage of self-sufficiency in the Sultanate."

"The project aims to supply the market with high-quality quantities of dates in addition to providing a good source of income for farm owners and their workers," the statement added.
