Muscat: Royal Oman Police Coast Guards, in coordination with Dhofar Police, seized seven boxes of khat, a psychotropic herb. In coordination with the Narcotics control team, officers seized the boat which was carrying the drug in Omani waters in the Wilayat of Mirbat.

A senior official said, “Three Arabs were arrested on the boat and we found seven large boxes filled with khat.”

Two arrested

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Narcotics Control arrested two Asian nationals for attempting to smuggle 289 psychotropic tablets through Muscat International Airport.



All suspects were sent to the public prosecution to proceed with further investigations.
